M43 Field Jacket

The standard American military vintage clothing is the M65, but the M43, which is nearly 20 years older and not as thickly fabricated as the M65, is an excellent item that is often worn from spring to autumn.The cotton herringbone fabric is soft in the M43’s characteristics, and the worn items are very comfortable to wear.

The two pockets are also an effective accent, and the metal buttons with engraved American Star are carefully and sturdily made. As this outerwear is worn more frequently in spring and summer, it naturally goes better with faded or damaged jeans that can be washed easily without worrying about fading, rather than vintage denim that is in good condition and not washed with concern for fading.

For this shoot, he wore an M43 jacket, Levi’s 502s from the 60s, a Brunello Cucinelli white T-shirt and a hat with a casket. The watch is a Rolex red 1972 Submariner, which goes well with the vintage clothes, and the M43 is also an excellent outerwear piece that can be worn from spring to summer and summer to autumn, as it can be styled around the waist when it is too hot to wear.

The equipment used was a Leica SL2-S with a Vario Elmarit SL f2.8/24-70mm ASPH set at around 70mm and fixed on a tripod, with the Leica Photos app running and the shutter clicking with an iPhone.Developed on 16inch-MacBook Pro Adobe’s Lightroom Classic.
