Levi’s 501XX 1955s

Levi's 501XX 1955s

The 1955s 501XX presented here has been faded and repaired compared to the 1954s 501XX presented in a separate article, and is 2 inches shorter in overall length at 30 inches. It can be enjoyed with shoes such as New Balance. I enjoy it with contemporaneous American casual wear and a bit older French workwear; the T-shirt is from a Japanese manufacturer in Okayama called Wassow. This Wassow T-shirt is an excellent modern interpretation of the Haynes T-shirt.

American casual wear from the 1950s had many interesting patterns and materials, and the corduroy cutter shirt worn here is an excellent shirt that is hard to find today. French workwear is made from moleskin, which, like jeans, is tough and ages well.

For this shoot, New Balance and a 1955s Levi’s 501XX were paired with a corduroy cutter shirt, a contemporary American casual wear from the same era, French workwear made from 1930s moleskin, and a Wassou T-shirt, a modern interpretation of Haynes from Okayama, Japan. .The watch is a 1964 Rolex GMT Master.

The equipment used was a Leica SL2-S with a Vario Elmarit SL f2.8/24-70mm ASPH set at around 70mm and fixed on a tripod, with the Leica Photos app running and the shutter clicking with an iPhone.Developed on 16inch-MacBook Pro Adobe’s Lightroom Classic.
